Karavitakis Liatiko Indigenous Yeast 2023
One of the most refined and impressive red wines the Cretan terroir has to offer. Made from old, ungrafted Liatiko vines and spontaneously fermented with indigenous yeasts, this wine showcases the grape's light, elegant, and complex side. A mere nine months of aging in used oak barrels ensures structure without overpowering the fruit.
The color is bright purple-red, with pronounced aromas of strawberry, raspberry, cherry, sour cherry, vanilla, black tea, dried flowers, and Mediterranean herbs. On the palate, it is refined and juicy, with a medium body, high acidity, and velvety tannins. A wine that combines elegance with complexity—Pinot Noir lovers, take note!
Serve slightly chilled (14–15°C) for extra freshness and finesse.
Delicious with: roasted quail, stuffed aubergine, spicy couscous, roast chicken or a drinks platter with soft cheeses and dried ham.
